Jew ’s mallow Investigate the phenomenon of numerous holes in leaves

img_6642

One day, I noticed that there were countless holes in the leaves of my home Jew ’s mallow.

I think it's an insect

I examined the back of the leaves, the stem, and the root area, but there was no pest-like appearance.
(;´・ω・)

It seems that there are quite a few people who are suffering the same damage when searching on the Internet,

But I don't know why.

I tried to find out if I was sick, but this is it!

I couldn't find any illness ...

Then, I tried various things, trying to investigate by myself.

Feather theory

While searching on the net, how about worms? There was a post to say. (/・ω・)/

I see! Fly at night and eat leaves and go home in the morning! (`・ω・´)I can explain that there are no insects even if I examine it while it is bright.

OK! Let's catch the beetle.

Stick double-sided tape behind the leaves of Jew ’s mallow and wait for the night!

result

In fact, there was no trace of it. (; ´ ・ ω ・)

So once again, I decided to sort out the leaf conditions and symptoms.

1. The leaves with holes are concentrated at the top of Jew ’s mallow.

2. The way of opening the hole does not feel like being eaten by something (the part where the hole is opened feels like it withered and collapsed)

If you look for similar diseases, you can't find them, but they don't look like feathers or pests ...

From here, it is a guess, but (/ ・ ω ・) /

Jew ’s mallow grows rapidly from germination until it can be harvested.
In the meantime, it was sunshine, or it was said that the nutrition was not enough and the leaves were affected.

Next time I try to grow it, I would like to verify what happens when I grow it with hydroponics with different fertilizer concentrations in hydroponics.

I would like to report here if I can verify the results. (^ ◇ ^)

The identity of white powder. Aphid molting.

The other day when I was watering lettuce,
Any white powder? I noticed something like this.

 white husks aphids molting pests

There were lots of unexpectedly between the lettuce leaves,
Any illness? Or was something like pollen flying? (;´・ω・)

If you look at it with a magnifying glass,

Something like an insect-like foot ... (; ・`д・´)

But it ’s dead because it does n’t move… Why so many dead bodies ...
What is this pest ...

And if you are thinking about that ...

In the back of the lettuce leaves, a lot of Aburaya (Aphids) (;´・ω・)

That ... something like an aphid and this corpse ...

that? There is an aphid pulling a corpse.

Ah! this is··

That's right. This was an aphid molting shell.

No way, I didn't think lettuce had aphids, so I didn't get rid of it.

Aphids have an interesting ecology, such as growing alone or attaching ants to escorts.

Anyway, I was relieved that it was not a new disease or something.
There are various discoveries in the home garden.
