The name is Kurobe Watermelon! Another name (Nyuzen Jumbo Saijo)!

It's a very big watermelon and it's a sweet watermelon that can be 15-25cm or more.

First, I searched from the seeds of Kurobe watermelon.

Noguchi Seedling Research Institute sells Kurobe watermelon seeds so buy it!
The price was 411 yen for 5 tablets. (Only this watermelon seems to be specially expensive.)

Other vegetables are reasonably priced, and they are conscientious, with seeds paid later. (*^▽^*)

Because it is a high species, I will try to grow it with pump-type hydroponics that has been successfully cultivated once.

Starting sowing on March 13, 2018.

The optimal temperature for germination seems to be a little higher, 30 ℃. (May-June is good for direct fires)
However, since it is the first large watermelon challenge, I will try sowing seeds a little earlier.

Because the temperature was low, I raised it in a plastic bag (Pink vinyl cultivation) .

Beginning in May, the temperature has reached about 25 ℃.

Looking at the roots, it seems to have become accustomed to the pump-type hydroponic cultivator because it grew newly.

The leaves are lively and growing steadily.

If you look closely, flower buds are coming out.
