(Small watermelons do not seem to bear fruit unless they are artificially pollinated.)

The method of artificial pollination is

First, look for female flowers.
(This image is deflated but blooms early in the morning)

Then take the male flower and press it against the female flower! (..) φ

Note : This time it ’s one vine
Since one fruit is attached, only one vine is artificially pollinated on a female flower.

 

 

 

 

June 3

It has grown considerably. (^ ◇ ^)
Was artificial pollination successful?

Note: It is said that the harvest time of Kodama watermelon is 30-45 days. If you remember the day of pollination, you don't have to worry about the harvest time. (This time, the harvest time is about ... 3-7 July in July)

June 10

It has grown a lot over the past week.
Since the wind is likely to fall down, fix the lower part with a block.

Actually, it grows to about 6 mm in diameter, (^ ◇ ^)

Because it ’s too big to withstand the weight, it can fall off,
Wrap with a draining net that fits the kitchen, and fix the upper part of the draining net to the support with a wire.

The care that was done so far
As a new grandson vine grows,

On the premise of leaving more than 10 leaves above the watermelon,
Old leaves and spider mite leaves were cut out to improve ventilation.

Watermelons are growing smoothly without being attacked by diseases and pests.
